01 · Walkthrough

If we take the house, we meet once to set up lockbox access, the alarm panel, shutoffs, and what normal looks like.

02 · Plan

Weekly or every other week. You say who gets the report: you, a spouse, a property contact, a trustee.

03 · Visit

Interior and exterior walk-through on the schedule. We observe, photograph the items that matter, and flag issues the same day.

04 · Proof

Report lands in your inbox. Open items stay open until they are closed. Extra storm visits are a separate, optional add-on.

The check

What we look at, every visit

Built for Oahu houses — salt air, termites, single-wall construction, lanai furniture that becomes a projectile in a watch, and systems that fail quietly while you are on the mainland.

  • Forced entry, doors, windows, garage, gates
  • Water meter / visible leaks / under-sink and water heater
  • Power, HVAC or window units, dehumidifier, fridge
  • Toilets flushed, traps run so they do not dry out
  • Smoke / CO if present
  • Alarm panel status noted, if you authorize it (observation only)
  • Lanai, yard, standing water, obvious pest issues, or roof or gutter conditions visible from ground level
  • Pool / spa surface and equipment if you have them
  • We don't touch mail or packages unless every adult addressee signs our Mail and Package Authorization.
  • Photos of each zone + GPS stamp on the report

A visual walk-through: we observe and report what we can see from accessible areas and ground level. No ladders, no roof access, and not a home inspection.

Prices assume a standard single-family home on the Windward or East side. Larger estates, steep driveways, and multiple structures are quoted after the walkthrough.

When a watch or warning is out, active clients get a short prep reminder: lanai cleared, furniture in, shutoffs, generator, plywood status if you own panels.

On your regular visits

Each scheduled visit notes any visible storm-related conditions, like debris, water intrusion, or damage, with photos in that visit’s report.

Extra storm visits

An optional add-on before or after the weather, taken only as our schedule permits, with no guaranteed response time. Photos of what we saw. We do not file your claim. We give you the record.

A Storm Check is a one-time introductory visit to a house that isn’t on one of our plans, before or after a storm, so you can see how Windward Home Watch works before you choose a regular plan. We look the house over and send you a dated photo report of what we saw.

We take Storm Checks only as our schedule permits, with no guaranteed response time, and a visit doesn’t protect the house from storm damage. We don’t respond to alarms. Keys go in a lockbox, and codes go to Artie by phone or in person, never online.

$175–$250 depending on access and prep, plus GET (quoted per job). If you start a regular plan within 14 days, your Storm Check fee (before tax) is credited toward your first month.

Visits are done by Artie Kendall, owner, a retired HPD sergeant. Each visit follows a written checklist, not a friendly look from the street.

This is home watch — scheduled visual walk-throughs and documented observations. It is not a home inspection, not property management, and not a substitute for insurance. We are not an alarm company or security service.

Do I have to sign a year?

No. Month to month after the first month. Either side can cancel with seven (7) days’ notice by email.

Do you need keys?

Interior checks need a lockbox on your property (yours, or one we install for a quoted price), or a keypad or smart lock code. Your keys stay in that lockbox. We never keep keys at home, in a vehicle, or anywhere off your property, and we never take keys by mail. Until a lockbox is in place, visits are exterior only.

What if something is wrong?

You get a call or text the same day, then the written report. We can meet a plumber or electrician at your rate. We do not authorize major work without you unless you put that in writing in advance.

Can a trustee or sibling get the reports?

Yes. Name them. That is a common setup for off-island families and houses held in trust.

Are you a property manager?

No. We do not collect rent, list the house, or run a vacation rental. We watch the asset and write down what we saw.

Insurance?

We carry liability for the service. You keep your homeowners and hurricane coverage. Reports are documentation, not a policy.
